Weekend 2

The River Clyde Pageant:
A Light on the Rise

marks the 10th edition of the spectacular outdoor performance that has captured the hearts and imaginations of audiences and participants of all ages. It is the first Pageant on our new long-term home in the village of New Glasgow.

There are eight performances of the 2026 Pageant: July 23-26 and July 30-August 2, 2026 at 7:30pm. Saturday and Sunday performances conclude with a shared, long-table meal on site, prepared by Chef Emily Wells of The Mill in New Glasgow.

This year’s show builds on the performance created last summer, exploring the collective movements of flocks and swarms, ancient patterns of plant and animal migrations, and the shifting responses these movements evoke. The show opens with a scene celebrating the Pageant’s own travels through the village of New Glasgow over the past decade. Audiences will then take a short journey through a grove of shady apple trees, coming to rest at the new performance site, where they will encounter a lively cast of creatures from human, animal and plant realms. The Pageant is an enchanting experience for all ages, sparking delight, contemplation and wonder.

Tickets

Tickets are released online in two phases. The first half of tickets will be released Wednesday, June 24th at 10:00 am. The second half will be released Thursday June 25th at 7:00 pm.

Pageant tickets must be reserved online, no tickets are sold at the door. Ticket revenue supports the growing cost of producing this large-scale event that involves over 200 artists and community performers in its creation. Our three ticket contribution levels:

  • for a show without post-show meal (Thursday & Friday)

  • for a show with a post-show meal (Saturday & Sunday)

  • No amount is too little or too great!

Our accessibility sponsor Pauley Charter and Adventure Tours is providing a free shuttle bus service for three performances of the River Clyde Pageant on July 23, July 24 & July 31. Reservation Policy

We ask that you observe the following policy to respect our efforts to keep the Pageant accessible to as many people as possible.

  • Book the number of tickets you know you can use for the performance date you know you can attend.

    • Email us at least 24 hours before the performances, at tickets@riverclydearts.com. We will offer your ticket(s) to someone on our waitlist.

    • Transfer your tickets to a friend via Tickit.ca (see instructions in your confirmation email)

  • If you book tickets and don’t show up for the performance without any efforts to let us know beforehand, we will place strict limitations on the number of tickets you can book to future Pageant events.

  • Thank you for helping us ensure our ticket policy is respected.

  • We welcome Pageant-goers of all ages to our events, but we must limit the number of attendees in order to ensure there is enough safe and comfortable space for all. Infants and toddlers ages 3 and under can enjoy the Pageant without a ticket, while kids ages 4 and up require a ticket.

SITE, SEATING & ACCESSIBILITY

Seating at the Pageant includes wooden bleachers, wooden benches, and garden chairs with backs (available upon request). Seating is available for 225 people. We also have space for picnic blankets and camp chairs, should you wish to bring your own.

We recommend bringing sunglasses, bug spray, water, and appropriate clothing for evening outdoor weather. With the exception of service animals, dogs are not allowed.

Please see our 2026 Pageant Access Guide for full details on the site, what to expect, and accessibility supports available for audiences. Arriving at the Box Office and the performance site requires a good deal of walking on sloped, uneven ground that ranges from paved and gravel pathways to grass. Golf carts are available for patrons who need assistance getting to and from the site. Accessible parking spots are available, and there is a wheelchair accessible porta-potty on site. Email access@riverclydearts.com to reserve a parking space, golf cart or chair with a back, and for further accessibility information.

POST-SHOW MEAL - SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS

Saturday and Sunday performances will conclude with a shared, long-table meal on the Pageant site. Food is prepared by Chef Emily Wells and staff of The Mill in New Glasgow. We encourage audience members to bring their own plates, cups and cutlery. There is a bar with cider, wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase (cash, debit and credit cards accepted). There are no meals following Thursday and Friday performances.

WEATHER

The Pageant can proceed in light rain, drizzle, and wind, so please dress accordingly. If it rains heavily, the Pageant cannot take place. We will email attendees by 5:30 pm if we have to cancel the show. If you don’t hear from us, the show is going ahead. Unfortunately, tickets cannot be used for another performance but refunds can be made upon request.
