Community Dialogue
From Shell to Shore: PEI’s Oyster Industry in a Changing Climate
Oyster farming dates back thousands of years in Europe and Asia, but it's a newer story here on PEI. Our panelists will share insights into Island aquaculture: how oysters are grown, why they're beneficial for marine ecosystems, and how farmers are responding to disease outbreaks linked to changing ocean temperatures. Join us for a lively discussion about our favourite bivalve!
Speakers: Brandy & Darcy Foley, No Grit No Pearl Oyster Corp and Peter Warris, Executive Director of the PEI Aquaculture Alliance
Moderated by Jane Wells
Sunday, October 5, 2-3pm in the Sunroom of The Mill
