Born with Bilateral Congenital Aural Atresia and Microtia (CAAM), a condition affecting 1 in 100,000 newborns, Nico faced silence before he ever heard sound. Through multiple reconstructive surgeries, he gained his hearing—and with it, discovered a lifelong passion for music. A graduate of Holland College's School of Performing Arts as a Berklee Pathway student, Nico’s journey is defined by resilience, artistry, and heart, which has led him to play at events like CBMF, Moonlight Bazaar, Street Feast, Canada Day, and many more. As well as getting nominated for Music PEI 2026 Musician of the Year. Nico is also the current Music representative for the board of directors of Creative PEI.

As a versatile guitarist, he moves seamlessly between funk, neo-soul, smooth jazz, Latin, rock, folk, City pop and many other genres. Having played over 100+ gigs in the past 3 years, sharing stages with artists like Diana Delirio, Luisa Güiza, and Todd MacLean. He’s also in several bands like Yokohomies, The Soosh, and Lefunk. As well as currently playing for artists like Caio Loesch, Sophie Elaine, Kendra Lyttle and many more, while also helping both students and emerging musicians get their first gigs, as well as playing with them. Nico believes that everyone deserves an opportunity to shine. Beyond performing, Nico is a passionate photographer and an advocate for creativity as a vehicle for self-expression and healing, living by the belief that no obstacle should stand between a person and their dreams.
